Interpipe Conducted the Customer Conference in Cairo


Interpipe in partnership with Egyptian partner Gazelle Trade held a conference for Egyptian clients in Cairo on 11th May. The event focused on the development of Interpipe over recent years and the problem of counterfeiting.
The Interpipe team presented the company’s improvements in quality, its strategic investment program, new products and services.

Lucian Cotor, Head of Interpipe’s Quality Assurance department, said:
– Interpipe has implemented a new operation model. As a result, we are focusing heavily on our quality management system. This is being unified and is bringing us further into line with international standards. We have achieved excellent results in the field of quality of steel with our modern electric steel melting complex. Now we are concentrating on the implementation of our strategic investment program for 2016-2017.

Andrey Burtsev, Vice President of Sales, Interpipe Middle East said:
– Egypt is a strategically important market for Interpipe in MENA region. We ship OCTG pipes, line pipes, pipes for general use and continue to expand on this markets, improving our technologies and services. Therefore the one of our aims was demonstrating to our customers and contractors in Egypt, how to distinguish a genuine pipe from a fake. This goal was achieved.

Interpipe also acquainted guests with its fight fake initiative. The problem of counterfeiting is growing in the Middle East. As part of this initiative, Interpipe became a member of the Steel Association Counterfeit Alliance, an organisation of 17 international producers of steel pipes, fittings and flanges. Interpipe has also registered a trade mark in the UAE. A similar process is underway in Egypt.
